Beam Trawing

In beam trawling, two nets are used that are cast out on either side of the ship. By means of an iron tube (also called the beam), the nets are kept open. Tickler chains are attached to this construction, startling the fish into the nets. Because the nets trawl over the bottom of the sea, it is necessary to use nets of excellent quality.

VCU Maritime has everything you need to equip your ship for beam trawling. Additionally, we will provide the complete rigging plans. Whatever you may need, VCU Maritime can deliver. Click here for more information or contact us through our contact page.
