The Verenigde Nederlandse Visserij Coöperaties (VNVC, an association of Dutch fishery cooperations) was founded in the city of Sneek on the 24thof January 1990. The name was changed in 1997 to VEVC,  as a result of the inclusion of international (European) fishery cooperations.

The VEVC is a collaboration between ten Dutch fishery cooperations. The VEVC’s goal is to aggregate the equipment needs of the fishery cooperations in order to obtain a competitive product which  meets the requirements of the fishery, shipping, water sports and industrial sectors.

Furthermore, the VEVC is a consultative body that promptly responds to changes in the market, to exchange experiences and carry out activities. VEVC’s main point remains the provision of consistently optimal service to its over 650 affiliated members.
