Gas Oil

The reason behind the establishment of VCU in 1992 was the aggregate procurement of gas oil. From that time, the supply of gas oil to the affiliated fleet has been an important pillar of our company, and also today many maritime businesses profit from VCU’s economical gas oil rates. We primarily cater to affiliated members; however, we can often also negotiate attractive deals with non-members.
VCU purchases the gas oil for its deliveries within The Netherlands at market prices has made beneficial arrangements with bunker companies regarding the pumping of the oil into the vessels. From our modern premises in Urk, bunkering activities are coordinated and developments relating to the oil prices are continually monitored in order to purchase at the most advantageous times. Bunkering takes place from our stock which VCU maintains weekly. We consider quality a very high priority.
For international deliveries, VCU has an extensive network of local suppliers in harbours in the U.K., Germany, France and Denmark. VCU is continuously looking to negotiate beneficial deals with local suppliers in order to further expand and optimise the international network built up over the last decades. This way we can often make a selection between several suppliers, which will reduce the price for gas oil for our international vessels.
